The Recreation Director and Programmer are responsible for the planning, organizing, and operation of the cultural, athletic, and recreational activities in the City. They work in cooperation with other groups and individuals to carry out these activities throughout the year.


Fall NFL Flag Football FLYER 3rd grade has been added!

Flag football registration is due by July 19th. Registration has been extended because of the addition of 3rd grade. Please visit our Youth Programs page for more information and to print the registration forms.

Men's Fall Softball League

Men's softball will begin in the fall. We need more teams! Registration information is available here. The registration deadline is August 15. 

Women's Fall Volleyball League

Women's volleyball leagues will be forming for the fall season. League information is available here. The registration window is not yet open.

Zumba Session II classes begin August 20th FLYER

The Recreation Department is now pre-registering for Zumba classes at the Wilson Center on Tuesdays 6:00-7:00pm. Pre-registration for all five classes in the session is only $15 per person, or you can drop in nightly for $4 per person. Adults and youth, men and women, beginners and experts are all welcome! Certified Zumba instructor Sarah D. will be leading the dance-based workout each night. Dress ready to sweat, bring a water bottle, and be prepared for an amazing and fun time. You can print your pre-registration form and mail or bring it in to the City Offices on the first floor of the Courthouse.

Adult Open Gym Pickleball

The City of St. Johns is excited to offer this new adult program. Pickleball is a fun sport that combines many elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong. This program will take place on Tuesday mornings 10:00am-12:00pm starting the week of October 21st and on Thursday nights 6:30pm to 8:30pm beginning Sept. 26th, at the Wilson Center Gym. The cost to take part in this program is $4 per night or you can purchase an open gym pass for $20 good for 6 visits.

Adult Open Gym Volleyball

If you are looking to play volleyball in a fun, easy going environment, this is the place to be! This adult program takes place on Monday nights starting in late October from 7:30 to 9:30pm, at the Wilson Center Gym. The cost to take part in this program is $4 per night or you can purchase an open gym pass for $20 good for 6 visits.

Open Swim begins June 25th

Open swim will be availabe June 25th through August 8th. Times will be Tuesday-Thursday 1:15pm-4:45pm

  • $2.00 Children under 7
  • $2.40 Ages 7-17
  • $3.00 Ages 18+

*Children 10 and under must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult (18 years or older)
